The short version

Yield tracks your card benefits, watches prices and your own recurring bills, and prepares moves for you to make. It prepares and stops. Yield is not a financial advisor, it cannot move your money, and it does not promise any particular saving or credit outcome. Demonstrations on our website and in our marketing use simulated screens and illustrative figures.

01Acceptance

By downloading, accessing or using Yield, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app or this website. If you use Yield on behalf of anyone else, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for them.

02What Yield does

Yield is an informational tool that sits above the credit cards and recurring bills you already have. Depending on which parts you turn on, it may:

  • Track the benefits and statement credits attached to your cards, each with its own expiry window, and remind you before they close
  • Read your card transactions to work out whether a benefit was used and whether a credit actually posted
  • Identify bills that could be charged to a card whose benefits already cover them, and show you what moving would be worth and what it would cost you
  • Watch the price of specific products you ask it to watch, or that it identifies from receipts you forward, and tell you when a price falls
  • Tell you when a purchase you made is inside a merchant's price adjustment or refund window, so that you can ask the merchant for the difference
  • Flag increases in your own recurring bills and show published typical prices for context
  • Compare your recent spending against the earning rates of the cards in your wallet, and show where a different card would have earned more
  • Show what your credit card accounts are likely to report to the bureaus and when, and help you plan payments before a statement closes
  • Keep a log of every automated read Yield performs on your behalf

Features vary by release and may be added, changed or removed. Nothing in these terms commits us to keeping any particular feature available.

03What Yield does not do

This section describes deliberate limits, not gaps we intend to close without telling you.

  • Yield does not move money. Connected account access is read only. Yield cannot make a payment, transfer funds, or change a balance.
  • Yield does not act as you. It does not file refund or price adjustment claims, submit disputes, place orders, make bookings, cancel services, or contact a merchant or issuer on your behalf. It prepares the move and you make it.
  • Yield does not repair credit. It does not dispute information on your credit file, contact credit bureaus, or offer credit repair services.
  • Yield does not open, close or apply for accounts and does not tell you which card to apply for.
  • Yield is not your bank, issuer, insurer or merchant and cannot approve, guarantee or compel any of them to do anything.

04Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old
  • You must be a legal resident of the United States
  • You must have at least one supported credit card to use the card features
  • You must use your own accounts, and only accounts you are authorised to access

05Your account

  • You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure
  • You must not share your account with anyone else, and there is one account per person
  • You must give accurate information when you add or connect cards
  • You are responsible for activity that happens under your account

You can delete your account from inside the app under Settings, then delete my account. Deletion is described in the Privacy Policy.

06Connected accounts

Yield uses Plaid to connect to your financial institutions. When you connect an account you authorise Plaid to retrieve your transaction and account data and provide it to Yield.

  • Yield never receives or stores your bank or card login credentials
  • The connection is read only and is used to match benefits, verify credits and read statement timing
  • Plaid's own terms apply and are available at plaid.com/legal
  • You can disconnect an institution at any time from Settings

Institutions sometimes change their systems, throttle access or go offline. Data may therefore be delayed, incomplete or temporarily unavailable, and Yield is not responsible for outages at a third party.

07Receipt forwarding

Receipt forwarding is optional and is off until you turn it on. When you turn it on we give you a private forwarding address.

  • Yield receives only the emails you choose to forward to that address. It does not connect to, scan or read any mailbox.
  • You are responsible for what you forward. Do not forward emails containing information you do not want us to receive.
  • Forwarded emails are processed to identify the merchant, the items, the prices and the purchase date, and to bind them to price and refund window tracking.
  • You can stop forwarding at any time. What we receive and how long we keep it is described in the Privacy Policy.

08Supported cards

  • Yield currently supports 18 credit cards across six issuers
  • The current list is available in the app under Settings, then Supported Cards
  • We may add or remove supported cards at any time
  • Not every benefit on a supported card can be tracked automatically, and some require you to confirm use yourself

09Marketing, demonstrations and simulated screens

Yield presents and explains its services using demonstrations. This section tells you exactly what those demonstrations are, so that nothing in our marketing is mistaken for a promise.

What we may show

  • Animated and interactive demonstrations of a workflow, shown inside a device frame or on a web page, that compress a process taking days or weeks into a few seconds
  • Simulated, recreated, illustrative or partially fictionalised product screens, including screens built from sample data, seeded demonstration accounts or design prototypes rather than a live account
  • Example merchants, products, card names, prices, dates, deadlines, credits, balances, percentages and dollar amounts, chosen to make a feature legible
  • Composite or representative scenarios, and narrated example days, which describe how the service is intended to behave rather than any individual's actual results
  • Screens from versions of the app that differ from the version currently available to you

What that means

  • Demonstrations are illustrative, not guarantees. They show how Yield presents information and what it pursues on your behalf. They do not represent the results you or anyone else will obtain.
  • Figures shown in marketing are examples. Any dollar amount, saving, credit, refund, points value, utilization figure, percentage or deadline shown in a demonstration is illustrative unless we expressly label it as a verified result.
  • Screens may be simulated. Where a screen is a recreation or uses sample data, it is still intended to depict the product accurately, but it is not a recording of a real account.
  • The product is what governs. If a demonstration and the app itself ever disagree, the behaviour of the app as delivered to you governs, together with these terms.
  • Availability may differ. A feature shown in a demonstration may be limited, unavailable in your build, or dependent on which cards, merchants, issuers or bills you have.

You grant us no rights over your data by viewing a demonstration, and we do not use your personal data to build them. Demonstrations are constructed from sample and seeded data. Where a real outcome is ever cited in marketing, it will be identified as such and used with permission.

Third party names

Card names, issuer names, merchant names, product names and logos that appear in demonstrations or elsewhere in our marketing are the trademarks of their respective owners and are used to identify those products. Their appearance does not imply that the owner sponsors, endorses, is affiliated with, or has approved Yield.

10Accuracy

  • Benefit information is compiled from publicly available issuer material and may not be current. Issuers change benefits, values, enrolment requirements and expiry rules without notice.
  • Merchant price adjustment and refund policies change, vary by item, seller and channel, and are applied at the merchant's discretion. A window shown in Yield is our reading of a published policy, not a commitment by the merchant.
  • Prices are read from public sources and from receipts you forward. They can be stale, regional, promotional, or tied to a membership or condition Yield cannot see.
  • Transaction matching uses automated classification and can misidentify a merchant or a benefit.
  • Points and earning rates are based on published rates and may not reflect targeted, promotional or limited time offers.
  • Statement close dates, reporting dates and balances are estimates derived from the data your institution provides.

Always verify with the source. Before you act on anything Yield shows you, confirm it with your card issuer, your insurer, your provider or the merchant. You are responsible for the decisions you make and the actions you take.

11Not financial advice, and not credit repair

Yield provides informational tools. It is not a financial advisor, credit counsellor, credit repair organisation, broker, insurance agent or tax advisor, and nothing it shows you is advice.

  • Yield does not recommend that you open, close, apply for or modify any credit account
  • Yield does not offer to improve, repair, rebuild or fix your credit record, history or rating, and does not offer advice or assistance for that purpose
  • Yield does not state or imply your likelihood of being approved for any credit product, credit line increase, refund, retention offer or claim
  • Yield does not dispute information with credit bureaus or furnishers on your behalf
  • Points and card comparisons are informational only

Credit information in Yield describes mechanics: what your accounts are likely to report, when they are likely to report it, and how a payment made before a statement close changes the reported figure. Position is stated, never graded. Any band or threshold shown reflects levels commonly observed in public scoring model documentation and is not a score, a prediction of a score, or a promise about a score.

Consult a licensed professional for advice about your particular situation.

12No guaranteed outcomes

Yield describes what it pursues on your behalf. It does not warrant what you will receive.

  • We do not guarantee that any credit, refund, price adjustment, retention offer, rate reduction, credit line increase or saving will be granted, in any amount, or at all
  • We do not guarantee that a benefit will be recovered before it expires, that a price will fall, that a window will still be open, or that a merchant or issuer will honour a policy
  • We do not guarantee any change to your credit score, credit report, utilization or standing with any bureau, lender or issuer
  • We do not guarantee that Yield will detect every benefit, price change, bill increase, or missed earning opportunity, or that what it detects will be correct
  • We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error free

Amounts described anywhere in the product as recovered or verified refer to credits Yield observed posting to a connected statement and matched to a charge. They are a record of what happened in your account, not a forecast, and not a promise of future results.

13Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Yield for any unlawful purpose, or to attempt to obtain a refund, credit or adjustment you are not entitled to
  • Connect accounts you do not own or are not authorised to access
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, or attempt to extract the source or data of the service, except where that restriction is prohibited by law
  • Interfere with, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service or its infrastructure
  • Resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the service or its output without our written permission

14Intellectual property

  • The Yield app, this website, their design, interfaces, animations, demonstrations, text and underlying software are owned by Yield and protected by intellectual property laws
  • You get a limited, personal, non transferable, revocable licence to use the service for your own personal purposes
  • Credit card names, issuer names, merchant names, logos and benefit programs are trademarks of their respective owners
  • We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any card issuer, merchant, insurer or provider
  • You keep ownership of your own data. You grant us the permission needed to operate the service for you, as described in the Privacy Policy.

15Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Yield is provided as is and as available, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non infringement
  • We are not liable for missed benefits, expired credits, declined refunds or adjustments, incorrect recommendations, misclassified transactions, data delays, or any financial loss arising from your use of the service
  • We are not liable for the acts, omissions, policies or decisions of any card issuer, merchant, insurer, provider or other third party
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill
  • Our total aggregate liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred United States dollars

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

16Termination

  • You may stop using Yield at any time by deleting your account in the app
  • We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, or where we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect the service or another person
  • We may discontinue the service, or any part of it, with reasonable notice where practicable
  • Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including accuracy, no guaranteed outcomes, intellectual property, limitation of liability and governing law

17Changes and governing law

We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated in the app or on this website. Continued use after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Disputes will be resolved through binding individual arbitration, and you and Yield each waive the right to participate in a class or representative action, except where that waiver is unenforceable. You may bring a qualifying claim in small claims court instead.
